Captain & Crew

  • Bareboat Charter Structure: All charters are conducted under a Bareboat Charter Agreement, meaning the charterer assumes possession and control of the vessel for the duration of the charter.
  • Separate Crew Contract & Payment: All captain and crew arrangements must be handled separately from the vessel rental, including:
    • A separate agreement between the charterer and the captain/crew
    • Direct payment by the charterer to the captain and crew, executed prior to the start of the charter
    • The vessel will not be released unless the selected captain confirms that all crew arrangements and payments have been completed.
  • Captain & Crew Selection: The charterer has the option to select their own captain and crew.
    • We can provide a list of qualified captains and crew members for the charterer. Final selection is always at the charterer’s discretion.
  • Owner Approval & Sea Trial Requirements: If the charterer selects their own captain, the following are required prior to the charter:
    • Captain must meet all licensing and experience requirements
    • Captain must complete a sea trial / vessel orientation
    • Captain must receive owner approval before operating the vessel
  • Separate Crew Contract & Payment: All captain and crew arrangements must be handled separately from the vessel rental, including:
    • A separate agreement between the charterer and the captain/crew
    • Direct payment by the charterer to the captain and crew, executed prior to the start of the charter
    • The vessel will not be released unless the selected captain confirms that all crew arrangements and payments have been completed.
  • Captain Authority & Safety: While the charterer controls the vessel, the captain retains the authority to advise and act in matters of safety, including weather, navigation, and hazardous conditions.
